Wilderness Quality Index for Europe (WQI 2.0)
Based on collaboration with the Wilderness Research Institute at the University of Leeds, the Wilderness Quality Index for Europe 2.0 (WQI 2.0) was developed. This map, which is an important tool for conservationists, assesses wild areas across Europe. It helps identify priority zones for protection and shows that significant areas of high-WQI wilderness lie outside existing reserves, making them particularly vulnerable.
